"May we be protected. May we be nourished. May we work together with great energy. Let what we study be invigorating. OM. Peace, Peace. Peace."

11th Annual Virginia Yoga Week
A celebration of mind, body and spirit.
Take a breath Virginia... Virginia Yoga Week is in the Air...
June 18th through June 25th.
We invite studios, independent teachers and wellness professionals to join the 11th Annual Virginia Yoga Week presented by the Virginia Yoga Community, Yogis for Positive Change, Be Well Virginia and the DC Yoga CO-OP.
We are delighted to once again share the benefits of Yoga with students of all abilities and backgrounds during Virginia Yoga Week and the Be Well Virginia Summer Wellness Campaign.
Participating studios, independent teachers and wellness professionals will have the opportunity to showcase their unique talents with offerings of free, $5, or discounted passes, as well as, Community Celebrations during Virginia Yoga Week and throughout the Summer Wellness Campaign, June 21st through September 21st.
Events leading into Virginia Yoga Week include the Love Your Body Festival in Reston Town Center on June 17th and the IAYT Conference in Dulles.
A highlight of Virginia Yoga Week 2018 is Free Yoga in the Fresh Air in Old Town Alexandria on June 21st, The International Day of Yoga.
Working together, participating studios, wellness professionals and teachers are able to share the costs of marketing and social media to increase their audience. We strive to keep costs of participation affordable for all in recognition of the complexities of owning a small, local business and offer an early bird registration discount for those registering by May 14. Registration for Virginia Yoga Week is open through May 21st.
A key component of Virginia Yoga Week is the Yogis for Positive Change Karma Project. We suggest participants offer a donation based karma class or event to benefit those in need, either one of the Be Well Virginia featured charities or a charity of choice. 2018 Featured Charities are YoKid, The Carpenter's Shelter for Homeless Families and Odanadi, an International organization working to fight human trafficking and support women in need. Past years charities have included Yoga Gives Back,The Alzheimer's Foundation and ALIVE.
